These terms set out the conditions for using Sidethink (“the app”). By using the app, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.
1. What the app does
The app is a macOS application that produces transcripts, Claims, Insights, Fact Check results, and meeting notes from audio or text you provide. Its output is there to support your judgment; we do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete, or current. For decisions that matter, check the original source yourself.
2. License
Provided you follow these terms and the App Store conditions, you may use the app for personal or business purposes. Apps obtained from the App Store are also subject to Apple’s standard end user license agreement.
3. Audio and meeting content
You are responsible for following the laws, contracts, and internal rules that apply to recording meetings, transcribing them, and sending content to external providers — including informing participants and obtaining any permission required. If confidential or personal information is involved, confirm that the processing route you selected is appropriate before you start.
4. BYOK
With BYOK you can use APIs you hold contracts for, such as Soniox, OpenAI, or Gemini. Each API’s terms, pricing, usage limits, and data handling are governed by your agreement with that provider, and API charges are billed to you directly by the provider. Managing your credentials and using them appropriately is your responsibility.
5. Pro subscription
- Pro is a monthly auto-renewing subscription.
- Price, currency, tax, and payment terms are whatever the App Store shows you before you purchase.
- Purchases are billed to your Apple Account and renew automatically unless cancelled before the current period ends.
- You can cancel and manage the subscription from your App Store account settings on your Mac. After cancelling, access continues until the expiry date Apple shows.
- Refunds follow Apple’s terms and process.
- Pro includes a monthly allowance. The remaining amount is shown in the app and resets when the period renews.
6. What you may not do
Do not break the law or infringe anyone’s rights, gain unauthorized access, place excessive load on the service or its providers, obtain or share credentials improperly, circumvent technical restrictions, or use the app to do anything dangerous or unlawful.
7. Intellectual property and your content
Rights in the app — its design, code, and name — belong to Sidethink or the respective rights holders. Rights in the meeting content you provide and the notes you create remain with you or the original rights holder. Sidethink does not acquire rights in your content beyond what is needed to provide the app.
8. Third-party services
The app works with third-party services including Apple, RevenueCat, Soniox, OpenAI, and Google. Some features may become unavailable if a third-party service is discontinued, changed, restricted, or interrupted. The app does not fail over to a different provider automatically.
9. Warranty and liability
The app is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, of the accuracy of generated results, or of continuous availability. Except where our liability cannot be excluded or limited, we are not liable for indirect damages, special damages, or lost profits arising from use of, or inability to use, the app.
10. Suspension and changes
We may restrict access to affected features in cases of serious breach of these terms, abuse, or where security requires it. If we change the app or these terms, we will revise the last-updated date on this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app where appropriate.
